To My Enemy
I now sleep with
my sword across my breast.
My dreams are filled
with scenes of our battle.
I have fought you
day and night, dawn to dusk.
My hate for you
pounds loudly in my chest.
It drives my mind,
my hands, my feet, my sword.
You're relentless;
your full weight against mine.
Blow after blow,
I withstand your attack.
Your mind is set
to kill at any cost.
But...
Were you aiming to kill my body?
No...
You aimed to kill my spirit.
You missed...
Good-night my enemy.
By morning one of us will die.
